According to KSC, the new KSC stadium, the BBBank Wildpark, will have space for over 34,000 spectators. These should also move much closer to the playing field than in the previous Karlsruhe Wildpark Stadium and all seats should be covered.
In 2018, the city announced that the finished one-ring football stadium in Karlsruhe should be no less than a "cauldron". In order to be able to keep this promise as quickly as possible, work will be carried out on the new Wildpark Stadium from Monday to Saturday. Y-supports characterize the outside view of the new Karlsruhe soccer stadium. They serve as back anchors for the stadium roof and are 22 meters high. Peikko column connectors were used for all Y columns, consisting of HPM39L-700 HPM® anchor bolts and HPKM39-1885 HPKM® column shoes.
A steel construction defines the roof, along with transparent plastic panels. Above the tiers of spectators, the canopy is made of trapezoidal sheet metal. The four old floodlight masts in the Wildpark Stadium have fallen. Instead, the light in the stadium comes from spotlights that are integrated into the roof construction. BESISTA® M48 tension rod systems with cross anchors were supplied by our subsidiary Peikko BESISTA GmbH to stabilize the roof.
The German-Dutch construction group BAM Sports GmbH based in Düsseldorf initially carried out the construction of the new stadium. Among other things, BAM also built the Opel Arena in Mainz and the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. In addition, the architectural office agn is responsible for the architectural design. The engineering office ASSMANN consult + plan GmbH from Dortmund is responsible for the structural planning of the stadium.
In 2021, BAM Sports was taken over by Zech Sports GmbH, which is continuing the construction project.
